Saxophonist Carl Woideck is a longtime pillar of the local jazz community and a retired Senior Instructor at the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance. He has spent decades performing in clubs and concert venues throughout the region, and is also known to local audiences as the host of The Soul of Jazz on KLCC-FM. Beyond performing, Woideck is a respected author, having published books and articles exploring the lives and music of jazz giants Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis.

With Woideck's deep scholarship and decades of stage experience leading a talented ensemble, this evening promises a thoughtful and engaging exploration of some of jazz's most beloved repertoire.
